Two home healthcare agency owners have been charged in connection with alleged fraudulent billing of more than $10 million to Medicare.

The indictment alleges that as owners of SierCam Healthcare Services in Rosenberg, TX, Tataw Charlz Bisong and Angela Bisong paid SierCam patients to sign up for medically unnecessary home health services. They also allegedly provided free transportation and covered the copayments and other physicians’ fees to facilitate their healthcare fraud scheme. Additionally, according to the indictment, the Bisongs created phony medical records to make it appear that the services met Medicare’s criteria for reimbursement.

Federal authorities charged the Bisongs with one count of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, six counts of healthcare fraud and one count of conspiracy to pay and receive healthcare kickbacks. The accused were scheduled to appear in federal court on Tuesday.
