Tri Pointe Homes is developing its first Altis 55+ community of homes on the East Coast, the company announced Tuesday. The community of homes, which could serve as competition for active adult and independent living congregate residential properties, is expected to open in the spring.

Altis at Serenity in the Raleigh, NC, area will be Tri Pointe’s third Altis property. The others are in Beaumont and Santa Clarita, both in California.

Serenity will add 425 homes for adults aged 55 or more years to the established Greenfield Communities’ Serenity real estate development in northwest Harnett County, just outside of Fuquay-Varina, NC.

The location is “within a short drive to the shopping, dining and culture of nearby Fuquay Varina, Holly Springs, Angier and the rest of the greater Triangle,” Tri Pointe Homes’ Vice President of Community Experience James Flanagan said.

Additionally, Greenfield Communities’ President Matt Brubaker noted, the community is close to healthcare institutions such as Duke Health, UNC Medical Center, UNC Rex Healthcare and WakeMed.

The Altis homes in North Carolina will be priced in the low $400,000s. With homes ranging in size from 1,200 to 2,527 square feet, options include two- and three- bedrooms. All Altis communities offer fitness centers, swimming pools and clubhouses.

“These communities are intentionally crafted to foster social connections and active lifestyles, featuring a variety of events, classes, and activities that cater to diverse interests” according to Tri Pointe.

Brubaker said it has “always been the plan” to add 55+ housing to the Serenity development.

“Tri Pointe is the ideal builder to realize this vision, and we are thrilled to partner with them at Serenity to introduce their Altis brand to the East Coast,” Brubaker said. “Active adults can take advantage of the nearly 220 acres of open spaces, creeks, wetlands, trails and other natural areas that we have preserved at Serenity.”
