Synergy HomeCare is launching a pilot program connecting clients in 40 locations with mobility solutions to help them age in place.

Synergy is partnering with National Seating & Mobility (NSM) to bring its Solutions for Accessible & Functional Environments (SAFE) program to clients in five states. SAFE sends integrated clinical care teams into homes, assesses risks and provides equipment to create safer, more functional living spaces. NSM’s in-home solutions include ramps, lifts and safety modifications for homes and vehicles.

While the plan is aimed at providing a safer environment for Synergy HomeCare’s clients, Synergy CEO Charlie Young said the partnership could also give his franchisees access to NSM clients in need of home care.

“The continued growth of aging in place is allowing our franchisees to have ongoing discussions with their clients and loved ones about not only care needs, but how to make the home safer and more accessible,” Young said. “ We look forward to this relationship with NSM creating greater opportunities and cross referrals at the local level.”

NSM said the deal marks its first partnership with a home care firm. Synergy HomeCare  franchisees in five states will have access to the SAFE program.  The company expects to expand access to franchise owners in all 380 of its territories nationwide by the end of the year.
