Town and Country Health & Rehab

St. Louis-based skilled nursing and rehab operator SRZ Management announced this week that it has acquired a 282-bed skilled nursing facility from Nashville, TN-based National HealthCare Corp.

The firm plans to preserve the facility, NHC Healthcare Town & Country located in Town and Country, MO, and retain all current staff, said David Murphy, SRZ Management’s CEO.

“We do not plan to expand the current facility or tear it down and build a larger facility as was proposed by previous parties interested in purchasing this property,” Murphy said. “Instead, we plan to continue providing services in the same facility and make improvements where needed to enhance the quality of care and living experience for all residents.”

As the owner and operator of 16 additional SNFs across the state, SRZ said preserving the property fits with its business model of purchasing and transitioning underperforming nursing home facilities in good market areas by improving the quality of care, clinical support and services offered.

“This expertise is what is driving our organization’s growth statewide,” Murphy added.

NHC Healthcare Town & Country was put up for sale last year after experiencing lower patient census and quality of care challenges in recent years. SRZ said the facility’s name will be changing to Town & Country Health & Rehab.
