Automation has made its mark in senior living communities, from keeping residents safe to making staff and administrators’ jobs easier. And now, it’s showing up stronger in the kitchen and in dining rooms. It’s helping facilities serve more meals more efficiently, all while improving the dining experience for residents.

Restaurant technology company QSR Automations announced a partnership last week with Erickson Senior Living, the second largest independent living provider in the US. The partnership improves Erikson’s dining efficiencies through delayed routing technology, which makes sure dishes are made consistently and delivered to the table at exactly the right time, and capacity management, which avoids crowded lobbies and overworked servers.

The new technology gives residents a restaurant-like experience, said Kevin Bunn, Vice President of Dining Services at Erickson Senior Living, in a statement. “Residents of Erickson Senior Living communities lead vibrant and actively engaged lifestyles, and their dining experiences are an important part of their daily lives,” Bunn said. “By partnering with QSR Automations, we are able to layer in efficient technology that replicates that of a traditional, world-class restaurant experience, which is really exciting both for our teams and our guests.”

QSR Automations’ other technologies are also being used in off-premise ordering and contactless delivery. For example, its ConnectSmart platform improves the timing of to-go and delivery orders so they arrive at their destination at the right temperature, with all requested modifications and additions while eliminating waste. These services are a big value to residents with health conditions or mobility issues.
