Gifford Healthcare names Michael Costa president and CEO

Michael Costa has been named the president and CEO of Gifford Healthcare. The organization includes Morgan Orchards Senior Living Community, located on campus in Randolph, VT.

Costa currently serves as the CEO of Northern Counties Health Care in St. Johnsbury, VT, a role he has been in since 2019. He previously was the deputy commissioner for the Department of Vermont Health Access, the state agency responsible for administering Vermont’s Medicaid health insurance program, and as deputy director of health care reform for the State of Vermont.

Costa earned his master’s degree in healthcare delivery science from Dartmouth College, a law degree from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor’s degree from Bates College.

Covenant names Tanya Mazor VP of philanthropy

Tanya Mazor has been named vice president of philanthropy at Covenant Living Communities & Services, based in Chicago.

Mazor previously held positions with Jewish Home and Care Center Foundation, the Milwaukee Center for Independence and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of the organization’s philanthropic initiatives, including donor engagement, fundraising campaigns and partnerships with local and national organizations. She will work closely with the directors of philanthropy and partner with the board of directors to develop and implement strategies that support long-term philanthropic sustainability.

St. Mark Village adds Patricia Vincent as board director

Patricia Vincent has been named board director at St. Mark Village, a not-for-profit life care community in Palm Harbor, FL.

Vincent’s work experience includes serving as a director of nursing for 120-bed and 150-bed skilled nursing facilities. She also has nursing leadership experience in a continuing care retirement community setting.

She earned a diploma in nursing from Abbott Hospital School of Nursing. Vincent also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in open studies with an emphasis in gerontology, health science and business management from Mankato State University.

In honor of National Assisted Living Week (Sept. 8-14), the Empire State Association of Assisted Living has named the following individuals Executive Director All-Stars:

  • Gina Sorokti, senior executive director, The Village at Penfield, Penfield, NY
  • Julie Everhart, administrator, The New Falls Home, Montour Falls, NY.

Edward Don & Co., a family-owned and operated distributor of foodservice equipment and supplies based in Illinois, has announced several promotions and organizational changes within its sales and merchandising departments.

  • Pete Angenend has been promoted to vice president of field sales. He has been at Don for 28 years. 
  • Roger Mellum has been promoted to vice president of national account sales. He has been at Don for 39 years. 
  • Wendy Abney has been appointed vice president of merchandising, marketing and ecommerce. She has more than 20 years of experience in merchandising and e-commerce.
  • Matt Claude has been promoted to director of merchandising, consumables. 
  • Shannon Tallon has been promoted to director of merchandising, front of house. 
  • Kim Worley has been promoted to director of merchandising, back of house.
