Westminster Communities of Florida names Hank Keith interim CEO

Hank Keith began serving as interim CEO of Orlando, FL-based Westminster Communities of Florida on Aug. 29. He succeeds Terry Rogers, who had been CEO since April 2020. 

Keith has been chief financial officer at Westminster for 32 years. A graduate of the University of Florida, he holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a certified public accountant.

Westminster has begun a search for a permanent CEO.

Covenant Living Communities & Services names Julie Niemann an executive director

Julie Niemann has been named executive director at Covenant Living of Golden Valley, a Covenant Living Communities & Services community in Golden Valley, MN.

In her role, Niemann will oversee all operations at the community, which offers residential living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and short- and long-term rehabilitation.

Niemann’s career spans more than 25 years, all within the field of healthcare operations and strategic initiatives. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Northern State University.

Amanda Sanchez

The Springs Living names Amanda Sanchez an executive director

Amanda Sanchez has been appointed executive director of The Springs at Sherwood, Sherwood, OR. She now oversees all community operations to optimize the experiences for residents and staff members across independent living, assisted living and memory care services.

Sanchez brings to the role 15 years of senior living experience, including the past six as executive director of Regency Park Assisted Living and Memory Care in Southwest Portland. Over the course of her career, she has served in various community leadership positions, from life enrichment coordinator to health services director.

Sanchez embarked on her senior living career in 2009 as a certified nursing assistant in California. She moved to Oregon in 2012 to spend time with her grandfather, who was battling early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, which deepened Sanchez’s passion for working with older adults.

Sanchez holds an Oregon residential care facility administrator’s license and remains certified as a nursing assistant.

WesleyLife appoints Krista Adams director of culinary excellence

Krista Adams has joined Johnston, IA-based WesleyLife as director of culinary excellence. 

Adams comes to the role with a decades-long history of culinary experiences, primarily in the aging services and hospitality sectors. Most recently, she headed Local Stone, a culinary consulting company. Prior to that role, Adams headed culinary efforts for Unidine/Compass Senior Living, Santa Fe Senior Living and Healthcare Services Group. She also formerly worked as a sous chef for The Ritz-Carlton and as director of culinary adventures for The Rock Ranch.

Adams graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta.

California Association of Health Facilities taps Cassie Dunham as CEO/president

Cassie Dunham has been named CEO and president of the California Association of Health Facilities. She is expected to start the transition into her new role Oct. 1.

Dunham has more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare sector, including most recently serving as an appointee of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in the role of deputy director of the Center for Health Care Quality in the California Department of Public Health.

Dunham is succeeding Craig Cornett, who has served as CAHF’s CEO and president since December 2017. Cornett will remain involved with the organization through the end of the year to help ensure a seamless handover of responsibilities.

LeadingAge Colorado announces leadership transition

Laura Landwirth, president and CEO of LeadingAge Colorado has retired after serving Colorado senior living and long term care providers for more than 24 years, according to a post on Argentum’s website. She will be succeeded by Deborah Lively, who has served most recently as LeadingAge Colorado’s director of public policy and public affairs.

Prior to her work at LeadingAge Colorado, Landwirth was the executive director of the Area Agency on Aging of Palm Beach & the Treasure Coast, and before that, she served in positions in acute and long-term care healthcare as well as public health.

Landwirth has a master’s degree in nutrition and food science from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Salem College. She earned the certified association executive credential in 2002.

Offerd hires Scott McCorvie to lead new senior housing practice

Scott McCorvie has been hired by Austin, TX-based Offerd, an artificial intelligence-driven acquisition and transaction platform expanding into senior housing. He will lead the company’s national senior housing practice, and Offerd plans to expand its senior housing team over the next six to 12 months.

“With the huge surge of senior demographics, paired with the enhanced total return in the sector, we felt imperative to expand into senior housing now and bring our partners new transaction opportunities and options to match their individual investment goals,” Offerd President Greg Cooper said. “Scott McCorvie brings the right experience, knowledge and industry relationships to get Offerd into the deal discussion now and match each deal with the most appropriate investment groups.”

McCorvie is a 20-year senior housing investment veteran. He previously worked for a national senior housing valuation and advisory firm, two national healthcare real estate investment trusts and a national senior housing consulting firm, and he launched two regional senior housing owner/operator investment firms. Over his career, McCorvie has helped close more than $1 billion in senior housing transactions in US markets, according to Offerd.
