Integra Senior Living Group welcomes Joseph Germain as president

Joseph Germain has joined Integra Senior Living Group, Winter Park, FL, as president.

With Germain’s leadership, the company has acquired its first existing property in New Smyrna Beach, FL, set to open in November. Integra also plans to develop three new construction communities, in Orlando, FL; Eagan, MN; and Forrest Lake, MN.

Germain has several years of senior living industry experience. Before joining the company, he was founder and executive director of the Central Florida Senior Living Association. He also is a former executive director of Pelican Landing Assisted Living and Memory Care, a Watercrest Senior Living Group community in Sebastian, FL, 

Messiah Lifeways promotes Christina Weber to VP of HR and community support services

Christina Weber has been promoted to the position of vice president of human resources and community support services by Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg, PA. 

Weber joins the executive leadership at the company following eight years of overseeing the organization’s home- and community-based services. She succeeds Karl J. Brummer, who became president and CEO on Sept. 13.

Weber formerly was with Messiah Lifeways Community Support Services, where she focused on creating a stable and engaged workforce trained to provide high-quality service through Messiah Lifeways At Home, the company’s non-medical home care agency, as well as adult day services and the company’s two senior centers. Under Weber’s leadership, Messiah Lifeways At Home received many awards and recognition as a high-quality service provider in Pennsylvania. 

Weber has a master’s degree in social work from Temple University. She also was a LeadingAge PA Leadership Fellow in 2019.

Life Care Centers welcomes Tiffany Goin as regional VP

Tiffany Goin has joined Life Care Centers of America as regional vice president of the company’s new Inland Region.

In this role, Tiffany oversees operations at centers in Lewiston, Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, ID, as well as Alderwood Manor in Spokane, WA, and Life Care Centers in Kennewick and Richland, WA.

Goin has been an executive director at Life Care Center of Lewiston for the past nine years.

Cadence Living appoints Ronnie Brown as VP of operations for mountain region

Ronnie Brown has been appointed as vice president of operation for the mountain region of Scottsdale, AZ-based Cadence Living

In this capacity, she will be responsible for operations of the company’s managed communities in Colorado. Before joining Cadence, Brown was regional director of operations and supported communities in Arizona, Ohio and South Carolina. 

Brown holds an MBA degree from the University of Colorado-Denver. She also is a licensed assisted living administrator in Colorado as well as a licensed nursing home administrator in Colorado and Arizona.

Windsor Run welcomes Kate Van Atta as director of human resources

Kate Van Atta has joined Windsor Run, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Matthews, NC, as director of human resources. 

In this position, she will oversee daily operations of the human resources department, focusing on employee recruitment and engagement. Van Atta has more than 10 years of experience in the senior living field. Before joining the company, she was the assistant human resources director at Ashby Ponds, a sister community in Ashburn, VA.

Van Atta holds an MBA degree with a specialization in human resources management from the University of Phoenix. She also is certified as a human resources senior certified professional via the Society of  Human Resource Management.

Lakewood Reserve appoints Meghann Ziegler as executive director

Meghann Ziegler has joined Lakewood Reserve, a Juniper Communities community Lakewood, CO, as executive director.

In this position, Ziegler will promote residents’ rights, safety and quality of life. She also will work to empower employees to make quality decisions through education and positive communication; blend operations and wellness; and support associates, residents and their families.

Before joining Lakewood Reserve, Ziegler was executive director at a local assisted living and memory care company. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology as well as a Master of Science degree in healthcare administration. She is a licensed nursing home administrator.

Astral at Franklin hires Cole Sites as executive director

Cole Stites has been appointed as executive director of Astral at Franklin, Franklin, IN. He will lead the Franciscan Advisory Services community, which will offer independent living, assisted living and memory support when it opens  in the spring.

Stites has worked in sales and marketing for more than a decade. He also has experience as an executive director for independent living, assisted living and memory care communities in the Indianapolis area. 

Stites is a licensed health facility administrator and holds a master’s degree in health administration from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He also is a certified dementia practitioner and an instructor for the LeadingAge Indiana administrator-in-training program.

Three Rivers Estates appoints Jessica Sharer as director of sales and marketing

Jessica Sharer has been appointed as director of sales and marketing at the under-construction Three Rivers Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, a part of Mission Senior Living, Farmington, NM. 

In her position, Sharer will lead marketing, sales and community outreach at the assisted living and memory care community. She also will act as a resource for older adults and their families, helping to ensure that they can make informed decisions about their living options.

Anthem Memory Care hires Adrianne Brouckaert as community relations director for Vineyard Place

Brouckaert has more than a decade of experience in the senior living field. Before joining the Anthem, she was sales director for Felicita Vida Senior Living in Escondido, CA.

LeadingAge PA appoints Bob Bertolette as interim president and CEO

Bob Bertolette has been appointed interim president and CEO of the board of directors of LeadingAge PA, Mechanicsburg, PA, effective Nov. 1.

His appointment proceeds Adam Marles’ decision to step down. The LeadingAge PA board of directors has begun looking for a permanent CEO.

Bertolette has a history of leadership within the association, including being a board member from 2011 to 2017. He also has served on several association committees and task forces, such as the Consumer Alignment Task Force.

Bertolette has worked in the senior living and care field for more than 42 years. For the past 25 years, he has been president and CEO of Riddle Village, a continuing care retirement community in Media, PA. Previous roles have included administrative positions with Normandy Farms Estates and director of social services and administration for the Philadelphia Protestant Home.

Bertolette has a master’s degree in health administration from St. Joseph’s University.

National Association for the Support of Long-Term Care elects new president and directors 

The National Association for the Support of Long-Term Care, Washington, D.C., elected Mike Capstick, PT, as the new board president during the 32nd Annual Meeting in Washington DC. 

Capstick succeeds Martha Schram, PT, who is the CEO and president of Aegis Therapies.

During the annual meeting, on behalf of the NASL membership and board, Martha Schram, NASL board president at the time, presented the Member of the Year Award to board of directors member Debbie Koepsel. Koepsel is president of Accelerated Care Plus and has served on the NASL board since 2016.

The NASL Member of the Year award is the organization’s highest honor and annually recognizes exemplary membership service. Koepsel was chosen for her many contributions to NASL over the years. Most recently, she led a public relations campaign to communicate the value of rehab therapy for residents and patients in post-acute care.

American College of Health Care Administrators welcomes Ambrosia Green as administrative assistant

Ambrosia Green has joined the American College of Health Care Administrators as an administrative assistant.  

Green brings to ACHCA more than 10 years of administrative experience from Johns Hopkins University. She is completing a degree in business administration at the Community College of Baltimore County.

Carstens brings on Rick Scarle as senior VP of sales and customer service

Rich Scarle has joined Carstens, Harwood Heights, IL, as senior vice president of sales and customer service.

Before joining the company, Scarle served in a variety of sales and marketing roles. Most recently, he was vice president of marketing for Enlivant Senior Living. 

Carstens’ senior management team also has been revamped in an effort to better serve both current and growing customer needs. Michael Cook, vice president of sales, will oversee Carstens’ national and major accounts in North America; Mary Elisa Calvano has been promoted to the position of senior vice president of marketing and innovation; and Mark Verbeek  has been promoted to the position of controller and director of information technology.
