Roland Park Place names Angie Gentile health and wellness program manager

Angie Gentile has been named health and wellness program manager of Roland Park Place, an accredited, nonprofit Metropolitan Senior Living continuing care retirement community in Baltimore. 

Gentile brings more than 15 years of experience as a wellness professional to the role. She specializes in program development and coordination and facilitation, with a background in customer experience, advertising, marketing, administration and operations.

Diversicare CFO Matthew Weishaar wins C-Suite Award

Matthew Weishaar, chief financial officer of Diversicare Healthcare Services, has won a 2024 Nashville Business Journal C-Suite Award.

The Nashville Business Journal launched the awards this year as an expansion of its long-running CFO Awards, with the goal of introducing the region’s highest-ranking executives. The new program highlights executives in C-level roles, including CFOs, chief operating officers, chief information officers and chief diversity officers.

NAHCA names 2 to COO roles

The National Association of Health Care Assistants has appointed Dane Henning chief operating officer for NAHCA membership and Lisa Houck COO of NAHCA employer careforce solutions.

Henning formerly was director of public affairs for NAHCA. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of NAHCA’s membership services, focusing on expanding the organization’s reach and providing resources to members.

Houck formerly was NAHCA’s director of business development and relations. In her new role, she will lead initiatives aimed at improving recruitment, retention and training programs with the ultimate goal of enhancing care quality.

Georgia Senior Living Association honors 7 with HERO of Excellence award

Seven senior living professionals and volunteers in communities across the state were recognized June 12 at the Georgia Senior Living Association’s annual awards gala. They were honored with the HERO of Excellence Award, the highest award for achievement allotted by the association.

Award winners:

  • Direct care staff: Judith Grant, lead med-tech, The Phoenix at Milton.
  • Community staff member: Carla Burns, laundry and housekeeping, Addington Place of Brunswick.
  • Community staff leader: Diamond Udell, Clarebridge memory care program manager, Brookdale Chambrel Roswell.
  • Executive director: Kailey Hooper, executive director, Orchard at Athens.
  • Industry partner: Laurie Hamilton, nursing consultant and trainer, Managed Health Solutions.
  • Volunteer: John Edmondson, volunteer and pastor, Manor Lake Hamilton Mill, Manor Lake Dawsonville, Manor Lake Houschton.
  • Corporate staff member: Pamela Polley, vice president of operations, Beacon Communities.

UNI names Katelyn Braga recipient of LCS Foundation scholarship

Katelyn Braga has received the LCS Foundation’s University Scholarship to the University of Northern Iowa. Braga was selected by UNI’s School of Applied Human Services scholarship committee.

Braga is a sophomore pursuing a double major in social work and gerontology with a minor in family studies. After graduation, she hopes to have a career in social work assisting older adults.

LeadGenie adds Danny Leonhardt and Dan Burger to leadership team

Danny Leonhardt has been named CEO and Dan Burger has been named vice president of contact center at LeadGenie, a Plymouth, MA-based company with a lead management solution. 

In his 20-plus years in the senior living and care industry, Leonhardt has focused on advisory services, lead management and partnership development. In 2006, he founded referral service CareChanges, where he was CEO and president. In 2021, he co-founded SilverAssist.

Burger has more than 20 years of experience in call center leadership and development in both the long-term care and financial services industries. For the past five years, he worked at Aline’s (formerly Enquire’s) senior living sales and service call center, serving in leadership positions up to and including director of operations.
