Goodwin Living selects Chandra M. Kumar as new COO
Chandra M. Kumar has been named the new chief operating officer for Alexandria, VA-based Goodwin Living.
She most recently led all operations for Charlestown Senior Living, the flagship retirement community for Erickson Senior Living in Catonsville, MD. Kumar has held many other senior positions within Erickson, Friends House and Sunrise Senior Living.
Kumar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and gerontology from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts degree in management of aging services from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She also is a licensed nursing home administrator.
Wake Robin names Meagan Buckley president and CEO
Meagan Buckley has been named president and CEO of Wake Robin, a life plan community in Shelburne, VT.
Buckley has served as the director of health and resident services at Wake Robin for five years and held the interim president and CEO role prior to her appointment. She is a licensed nursing home administrator who held leadership positions within the industry before joining Wake Robin’s staff.
Buckley succeeds retiring president and CEO Martha Maksym, who led Wake Robin for three years, including through the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
Vetter Senior Living names Gary Anthone, MD, chief medical officer
Gary Anthone, MD, has joined Elkhor, NE-based Vetter Senior Living as chief medical officer.
Anthone formerly was chief medical officer and director of the division of public health for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Before working for the state of Nebraska, he owned a private surgical practice in Omaha, and he also was a faculty member in the department of surgery at Creighton University.
Anthone holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Benedictine College. He earned his Master of Science and his medical degree from Creighton University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Integral Senior Living announces two new executive directors
Jennifer Lester and Kelly Ainsworth have been named senior executive directors of their respective Integral Senior Living communities.
Lester works at Sage Spring Senior Living, a San Marcos, TX, senior living community that opened in December 2020. Ainsworth works at Parkview on Hollybrook in Longview, TX.
Varsity promotes Rob Smith to executive creative director
Rob Smith has been promoted to the position of executive creative director at Varsity, a Harrisburg, PA-based marketing agency serving the senior living industry.
Smith, who joined Varsity in 2006, will guide overall creative output, assist with new business development and oversee work for a variety of clients. Varsity says that his promotion comes on the heels of a period of significant growth for the agency, which has added several new clients and new employees.
