United Methodist Retirement Communities & Porter Hills announce COO Lori Potter’s retirement, two promotions
Lori Potter, chief operating officer at United Methodist Retirement Communities & Porter Hills, Chelsea and Grand Rapids, MI, has announced her retirement, effective Dec. 31.
Potter recently was honored as a life member of LeadingAge Michigan, recognizing her achievements in the senior living field. She has more than 30 years of senior living experience, of which the past 13 have been spent at UMRC & Porter Hills.
In addition to her background as a licensed practical nurse and licensed nursing home administrator, Potter also holds management, organizational development and public administration degrees.
Along with her upcoming retirement, UMRC & Porter Hills announced the promotion of Nicole Maag and Luke Reynolds to new roles.
Maag, who has been vice president of operations for UMRC & Porter Hills since 2018 and served in other roles at Porter Hills since 2010, has been promoted to chief of residential services, effective Jan. 1.
Maag is a registered nurse with 18 years of experience caring for older adults. In her new position, she will oversee all 15 residential care communities for the company across lower Michigan, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation.
Reynolds, who currently is executive director of LifeCircles PACE, with locations in Muskegon and Holland, MI, has been promoted to chief of home and community based services for UMRC & Porter Hills. In this new role, he will lead and support the company’s home- and community-based services, including PACE and home health.
For more than 25 years, Reynolds has served vulnerable populations, and he has been at LifeCircles PACE for the past decade. Additionally, he is the president of the PACE Association of Michigan Board of Directors.
Treplus Communities welcomes James Lipnos as senior VP of development and construction
James L. “Jim” Lipnos has joined Treplus Communities, Columbus, OH, as senior vice president of development and construction.
In this role, he will support the growth and scale of 55+ active adult community development as the brand grows.
Lipnos has almost 30 years of experience in executive leadership in the development and construction sectors, with specializations in land acquisition and zoning. He also is an active member and immediate past president of the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio.
Before joining the company, Lipnos was president of Homewood Corp. for almost a decade. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Akron and also studied architecture at Kent State University.

Allen has worked in the senior living industry for more than three decades. Before joining NexCore Group, she was vice president of health and wellness for Balfour Senior Living.
Retirement Unlimited hires Jules Johanson as VP of resident engagement
Jules Johanson has joined Retirement Unlimited Inc., Roanoke, VA, as vice president of resident engagement.
In this position, Johanson will help lead the company’s life enrichment teams in both Virginia and Florida as they continue to implement the company’s strategic initiative and vision of “delivering a lifestyle our residents have earned and deserve.”
Johanson has more than two decades of senior living experience.
HMP Senior Solutions hires Quentin Jones as regional director of operations
Quentin Jones has joined HMP Senior Solutions, Nashville, TN, as regional director of operations.
Jones has more than 14 years of experience in managing senior living communities and community staff. In his new capacity, he will oversee the direction of care and services within the company’s managed multisite assisted living communities and skilled nursing facilities across the Southeast.
Before joining the company, Jones was vice president of finance and operations at Esquire GRP/Spring Oak Senior Living. He is a certified assisted living administrator and has an MBA from Georgia College & State University.
Juniper Communities appoints Lisa DallaBetta as executive director of Juniper Village
Lisa DallaBetta has joined Juniper Communities as the new executive director at Juniper Village at Monroeville, PA. The community became a part of Juniper Communities’ portfolio of owned and managed senior living communities earlier this year.
DallaBetta has worked in the healthcare industry for more than three decades as a nurse practitioner or provider in regional clinical roles and in senior level healthcare management in Pennsylvania and Florida.
She has a Master of Science degree from Duquesne University.
Mesa Valley Estates appoints new designated manager, Nathalie Elliott-Francois
Nathalie Elliott-Francois has been appointed as the designated manager of Mesa Valley Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, Mesquite, NV. The community is part of Mission Senior Living.
In her new role, Elliott-Francois oversees operations, programming and care at the 77-unit assisted living and memory care community. She has served older adults and their families for 10 years and has held many leadership roles in the senior housing and healthcare fields.
Before joining the company, Elliott-Francois worked in assistant administrator and healthcare guide positions at continuing care retirement communities.
She has an MBA in healthcare administration from Keiser University and is a licensed nursing facility administrator.
Anthem Memory Care welcomes Beckie Halaska as community relations director
Beckie Halaska has joined Anthem Memory Care as the community relations director for Willowbrook Place, Littleton, CO.
In her new position, she will handle community outreach and marketing.
Before joining the company, Halaska was the director of business development at Sacred Passage Hospice. She has more than eight years of healthcare experience.
Foundation for PALTC Medicine names Victoria Hann new director
Victoria Hann, MPA, has joined the Foundation for the PALTC Medicine as the new director.
Christine Ewing, who previously was the foundation’s director, has moved to the associated Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. She will oversee workforce issues, including the popular Futures Program, as part of the marketing, membership and chapter relations team.
Hann has more than 25 years of experience managing nonprofit organizations in senior and management roles. She has worked with local, national and international nonprofit and for-profit organizations serving the healthcare, education and economic development fields.
Hann has a graduate degree in public administration, with a focus on nonprofit management, from Clemson University. She also is a certified fundraising executive, and she teaches part-time in Clemson’s master of public administration graduate program.
Hann worked and volunteered in long-term care in her youth, and she is a caregiver for her mother.
Nixon Peabody expands affordable housing and real estate practice, adds three new attorneys
Nixon Peabody, Boston, is expanding its national affordable housing and real estate practice with the addition of three attorneys to its team: Karla Chaffee of Boston; Daniel Perlin, Chicago; and Chaundi Randolph, Washington, D.C. All three have joined as counsel and hold practices with senior housing crossovers.
Chaffee provides guidance to clients seeking zoning approvals and other development entitlements. She also assesses the environmental risk of properties and decides which mitigation measures are necessary to help clients avoid potential liability. She holds a JD from Vermont Law School.
Perlin focuses his practice on complex commercial real estate transactions. He represents both landlords and tenants in leasing, development, acquisition and disposition matters. He also guides clients on land use, construction, municipal, environmental, mergers and acquisitions and sale-leaseback matters. He has a JD from the DePaul University College of Law.
Randolph focuses his practice on affordable housing, real estate, finance, investments, environmental and natural resources. He joins the company after 12 years at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he was the lead attorney for Section 202 and Section 811 programs for elderly and disabled individuals, respectively, among other responsibilities. Randolph has a Master of Laws degree in real property development from the University of Miami School of Law, as well as a JD from Florida A&M College of Law.
