Home Care Pulse has acquired technology and data firm Activated Insights and customer survey and employee retention software company Pinnacle Quality Insight in an effort to expand the management company’s technology platform, HCP announced Thursday.

The acquiring company name may have the words home care in its name, but “we have customers across all of the healthcare continuum. Understanding workforce experience across the continuum is what these two organizations bring to the table,” Kristen Duell, chief marketing officer at HCP, told the McKnight’s Business Daily. “Specific to Activated Insights, we love how the organization has the ability to bring external industry awareness to healthcare with the Great Places and US News, separate to that the analytics platform will enable us to extend our mission, which is focused on insights, training and tools.”

Activated Insights helps providers collect feedback from their employees and residents to improve and build their brands. The company administered the surveys and collected the data that were analyzed by US News to produce its inaugural “Best Senior Living” ratings in 2022. Acctivated Insights also has been involved with the publication of the annual Best Workplaces in Aging Services lists, among others, compiled by people analytics firm Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine.

The acquisitions are enabled by healthcare-focused private investment firm Cressey & Co. Duell said that Cressey & Co. is committed to HCP’s mission “and these two acquisitions further demonstrate that by enabling our organizations to further our shared mission in delivering care providers with the best tools taking insights through the largest data set in the post-acute industry to then drive action through our e-learning, certifications, and reputation management solutions.”

HCP, Activated Insights and Pinnacle Quality Insight customers will have immediate access to expanded offerings that the acquisitions afford, including a full suite of feedback-based certifications powered by digital and phone surveys with industry-leading performance results for quality and satisfaction. These products, which increase inquiries, referrals, and applications for our customers, will now be available across the full post-acute care continuum.

“Activated Insights and Pinnacle Quality Insight meaningfully expand our reach in the healthcare industry, as our product offerings naturally complement one another,” HCP President Todd Austin said. “The combination will accelerate our ability to offer more effective certifications and enhance our experience surveys, while drawing insights and benchmarks from an expansive set of customer and employee experience data.”

Chris Magleby, CEO of Pinnacle Quality Insight, who will join HCP as chief strategy officer, said that the aligning with HCP and Activated Insights “creates a unique and compelling suite of applications for our customers.”

Jacquelyn Kung, DrPH, MBA, CEO of Activated Insights, said she has known and admired the HCP team for almost 15 years. She will stay on with HCP in an adviser role.

“We are thrilled to join HCP to extend our data and analytics capabilities and provide our customers with opportunities to advance their employee and customer engagement,” Kung said.
