The Fountains at The Carlotta, Palm Desert, CA, recently hosted its second annual Oscars party. Residents and associates dressed up for the “Oscarlottas” and took advantage of photo opportunities on the red carpet or by a classic Thunderbird.

Some of the guests — associates and residents who helped the community thrive in 2018 — walked away with a “Carl,” the community’s version of an Oscar.

Residents at Willow Towers enjoy the Oscars party.

Across the country in New Rochelle, NY, residents at United Hebrew’s Willow Towers assisted living community recently were the A-list guests at an Oscars party there. Surrounded by gilded “statues,” they walked the red carpet, posed for paparazzi and enjoyed watching the ceremonies together.

Each resident received a special “Oscar” reflecting a unique aspect of their character, personality or interests. For example, a “Most Athletic” award went to resident who attends daily exercise classes including Tai Chi; “Most Creative” went to a resident who is a regular art class participant; “Most Welcoming” went to a resident who is an in-house ambassador to new residents; and so on.

The event capped off a weeks-long entertainment program where nominated films were screened.
