Eventide Senior Living Communities and Tabitha Senior Care have signed an affiliation agreement that is expected to become effective Oct. 1, Eventide announced Wednesday.

Moorhead, MN-based Eventide will be the parent company, continuing to serve western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota. Lincoln, NE-based Tabitha will continue to operate in eastern Nebraska. The companies will retain their separate brands, a spokesperson for Eventide told the McKnight’s Business Daily

Combined, Eventide and Tabitha serve approximately 2,300 older adults every day and employ 2,200 workers.

“We look forward to the opportunities this partnership presents for our residents, clients, families and staff. This integration will enable us to expand our reach and uphold our commitment to excellence in senior services,” Eventide President and CEO Jon Riewer stated in a press release.

Both companies are nonprofit, faith-based organizations. Eventide was founded in 1951; Tabitha, in 1886. Both also offer a continuum of care for older adults, including 55+ active adult, independent living, assisted living, memory care, transitional/rehabilitation care, skilled nursing, home health and hospice.

“By combining our strengths and resources, we will create a stronger, more resilient organization focused on delivering high-quality care and enriching the lives of seniors,” Riewer said.

Tabitha President and CEO Brian P. Shanks said that the affiliation will allow the organization “to continue our mission-driven legacy of providing compassionate care to seniors in Nebraska. Together, we will leverage our combined expertise to navigate industry challenges and enhance the services we offer.”
