Change is coming to the top of Encompass Health’s Home Health and Hospice division. One of the largest home health companies in the United States announced Friday that division CEO April Anthony will be leaving her position in mid-June.

In a statement Anthony said, “It’s been my honor to lead Encompass Health’s home and hospice segment, and I am proud of what we have accomplished. With our culture, talented workforce and technology in place to deliver superior outcomes, the division is poised for ongoing success, and now is the right time for me to step aside. ”

Encompass Health CEO Mark Turr said a search for Anthony’s successor is underway and assured investors that the division has “a strong foundation in place to aid in this transition.”

In December, Encompass Health’s board of directors announced a review of strategic alternatives for the home and health business but set no timetable for completing the review. The division reported declines in home health volumes last year due to the pandemic.

Anthony’s leadership at Encompass Health began in 1998 when she founded the firm’s Home Health and Hospice unit.

Encompass Health is the nation’s fourth largest provider of home health services, with 241 home health locations in 39 states and Puerto Rico.
