Twenty-one senior living and care communities have been recognized for their efforts in creating a culture of employee engagement and resident satisfaction.

The Holleran 2021 Choice Community Awards recognize communities for setting benchmarks of senior living engagement scores. Holleran, a Mountville, PA-based consulting firm, serves more than 1,000 not-for-profit senior living provider organizations nationally.

Awards are granted by exceeding Holleran’s “Engagement Index” benchmark with a mean score above the 85th percentile among the 1,000 communities surveyed. The benchmark comprises more than 160,000 resident and employee surveys completed within the past two years. A minimum response rate of 70% must be achieved, and 60% or more of the organization’s staff members or residents must be categorized as highly engaged.

“These communities boast strong cultures of employee and resident engagement where employees feel their workplaces honor them, and residents feel they are supported in their successful aging,” Holleran CEO and founder Michele Holleran said.

Four Life Care Services senior living communities — Asbury in Frederick, MD; The Cypress of Raleigh in Raleigh, NC; Parkwood in Bedford, TX; and The Glenview at Pelican Bay in Naples, FL — were recognized as employee engagement recipients.

Also earning employee engagement recognition were UMRC & Porter Hills’ Cook Valley Estates in Grand Rapids, MI; Lutheran Towers in Atlanta; and Parker at Stonegate in Highland Park, NJ.
