Craig Edinger has been promoted to CEO of The Goodman Group, succeeding John B. Goodman, who had led the company since 1976 and passed away March 20 from complications following a heart attack. Edinger most recently served as chief operating officer and executive-in-charge.

Edinger has been with The Goodman Group for 12 years, having worked closely with John B. Goodman and his father, Sidney A. Goodman, who founded the company in 1965.

“I am honored for the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization and look forward to building upon the strong foundation that John and his father created,” he said. “I am deeply committed to The Goodman Group’s mission of putting our residents at the heart of everything we do.”

As COO, Edinger was responsible for the company’s operational and business functions of its 70 senior living and healthcare, residential and commercial properties. Prior to that, he was vice president of senior living and healthcare. Edinger has more than 27 years of experience in senior living and the post-acute care continuum.

Edinger has a master of healthcare administration degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and an undergraduate degree in healthcare administration from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire.
