Wednesdays very well may be the best day of the week for residents of Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit, Austin, TX, where Shelly Herrera, connections director, added an additional source of fun for residents.

As McKnight’s Senior Living previously reported, in April 2020 during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and when the community entered a lockdown, Herrara began wearing costumes every Wednesday.

Herrara still goes out of her way to buy Krispy Kreme doughnuts and deliver them to each resident room, donned in a costume designed to spark smiles in the residents. Recently, she wore her 100th costume and celebrated 95 weeks of delivering doughnuts.
