Early September brought with it cooler temperatures and expanded senior living and care relationships.

American Healthcare REIT and Cogir Management expanded their relationship last week with AHR’s acquisition of four assisted living and memory care communities in Washington, Cogir announced Thursday. Cogir will manage them.

AHR acquired Mallard Landing in Battle Ground, Orchard Pointe in Port Orchard, Blossom Valley in Wenatchee and Blossom Creek in Wenatchee, expanding the companies’ relationship to 14 communities.

With this acquisition, Cogir now operates communities in California, North Carolina, Utah and Washington for AHR. Cogir manages a total of 22 communities in Washington and 84 communities across the United States.

“Cogir (and Cadence Living prior to its merger with Cogir) has been a great partner of ours since 2019, and we look forward to continuing to expand our relationship with this best-in-class operator,” AHR Executive Vice President of Asset Management Ray Oborn  stated.

Cogir Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth Rob Leinbach said that the Scottsdale, AZ-based management company welcomes this opportunity to expand its relationship with AHR, “especially with such holistic and community-driven residences as these four in Washington.”

Irvine, CA-based AHR launched its first public offering in January.

PruittHealth to manage 2 more SNFs

Also last week, PruittHealth entered into an agreement with Southeast Georgia Health System to manage two of its skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, located in Brunswick and St. Marys, GA.

The communities will be renamed as PruittHealth – Brunswick at Southeast Georgia Health System and PruittHealth – St. Marys at Southeast Georgia Health System, Pruitt announced Thursday.

“We’re honored to have the opportunity to serve these South Georgia communities,” PruittHealth Chairman and CEO Neil L. Pruitt Jr. stated. “Our 55 years of experience, along with our expansive continuum of care, make us uniquely qualified to increase service delivery and provide residents with a broader range of care options.”

Those services include access to skilled nursing for care after an illness, surgery or injury, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapies. In addition, patients and residents will have access to PruittHealth’s home health, prescription services and outpatient therapy services.
