Naperville, IL-based Charter Senior Living recently has broken ground on three senior living communities in three different states, the company announced Monday.

The family-owned company already owns and manages more than 60 senior living communities throughout the country, offering independent living, assisted living and memory care.

In February, Charter and DMK Development Group broke ground on a new community in Murray, KY. Charter Senior Living of Murray will feature 56 assisted living and 23 memory care units in a mix of studio and one- and two-bedroom suites. The community is expected to open in April 2025.

Meanwhile, construction has begun on Charter Senior Living of Winder, Winder, GA, with DMK. The community will include 47 independent living, 40 assisted living and 22 memory care units. The project is expected to be completed at the end of next year.

And Charter Senior Living of West Chester, West Chester, PA, in collaboration with Paradise Management, will begin construction this fall. The community will include 58 independent living, 70 assisted living and 32 memory care units. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2026.

Charter also recently has expanded its presence in other ways, having assumed management of 13 former Cedarhurst Senior Living communities in Illinois and Wisconsin.

“I firmly believe in our supportive culture built upon reliability, loyalty, pride, experience and mutual respect, and our goal of providing seniors with exceptional services and the lifestyle they so richly deserve,” Charter co-founder and CEO Keven Bennema in May when the news was announced.
