More than 82% of Medicare home health users have three or more chronic conditions, almost 30% have incomes under the federal poverty level, and nearly 30% have two or more activities of daily living limitations.

Those are some of the findings reported in the 2020 AHHQI Home Health Chartbook, released on Wednesday by the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.

The data, compiled and charted by Avalere, summarizes and analyzes statistics on home health from a range of government sources, including the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Medicare Cost Reports, Home Health Compare, Medicare fee-for-service claims, and other data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
