Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences resident Rose Ashkenazy looks over shots with photographer Tony Lopez. She is featured in May, and the calendar shares her story of hiding from the Nazis near the Ukraine with her family during World War II.

Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences, Commack, NY, has released the 2019 “L’dor v’dor” From Generation to Generation calendar, its 14th calendar starring residents.

The full-color wall calendar features professionally shot photos of assisted living residents, including two Holocaust survivors, two couples married more than 60 years and eight others whose words of wisdom are included to provide inspiration each month through the calendar pages.

Each model was selected to participate in the calendar project based on his or her unique personal story and life experiences. Models sat for professional hair and makeup, and portraits were taken by a local photographer. The day-long shoot included a feature interview of each model about their life and advice, as well as the professional filming of a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the calendar.

“The annual ‘calendar reveal’ is a much-anticipated event for the residents and their family, as well as our staff,” said Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences Director of Community Relations Staci Rosenberg-Simons. “From the red carpet arrival, to the paparazzi photos and interviews, to the autographing of the calendar pages, the event brings a certain air of celebrity magic to our facility. We are pleased to continue this tradition each year and are proud to honor our inspirational residents and share their sage advice.”

The calendar is available free of charge at bit.ly/Gurwin2019Calendar. The behind-the-scenes video also can be viewed on the same web page.
