Assisted living/personal care managers in continuing care retirement / life plan communities received an average 4.64% bump in salary and an average 6.21% bonus over the previous year’s levels, according to the 2024-2025 CCRC Salary & Benefits Report, released Tuesday by Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service.

Assisted living managers at for-profit CCRCs earned an average of $77,229 (5% increase over the previous year), whereas managers at not-for-profit communities earned an average of $90,376 (a 205%) increase. 

At communities with annual revenues of $10 million to $15 million, the average salary for an assisted living manager was $86,573. Managers at communities with revenues between $15 million and $20 million earned an average of $87,856; managers at communities with revenues between $20 million and $30 million earned an average of $90,349; and managers at communities with revenues exceeding $30 million earned an average of $101,288.

At communities with revenues up to $19.9 million, assisted living managers earned an average of $84,702, whereas those at communities with revenues exceeding $10 million earned an average of $94,916. 

Assisted living managers at communities with up to 299 total units earned an average of $85,252, whereas those at communities with 300 total units or more earned an average of $94,784.

Overall, assisted living managers earned $90,042. Managers in Maryland averaged the highest salaries at $103,511, while managers in South Carolina averaged the lowest salaries at $80,554.

The 2024-2025 CCRC Salary & Benefits Report from Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service, the 27th annual year of publication, includes data from 510 participating CCRCs, providing compensation data on more than 80,750 employees, covering 47 management and 55 non-management positions. Data are broken down by revenue size, total unit size, region, state and core-based statistical areas.

The report also includes information on 19 fringe benefits, turnover rates by department, shift differentials and projected salary increases by department for 2024 and 2025.
