Long-term care industry associations are creating online efforts to combat the effects of social distancing and to share positive messages about communities and residents during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Monday, Argentum announced a new Facebook group, Sharing for Seniors, to “help reduce the feeling of isolation for these older adults and use this space to share positive messages of connection, inspiration, hope and appreciation, to brighten their days.”

Everyone is invited to post photos, videos, messages, songs, dances and artwork that senior living companies and communities can share with residents and families. Use the hashtag #SharingForSeniors.

The American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living has launched a new website, www.carenotcovid.com, to facilitate public sharing of supportive social media messages with residents.

Members can upload videos and images to Facebook or Twitter and include the campaign hashtag #CareNotCOVID; tag AHCA / NCAL as well as the nursing home or assisted living community mentioned in the post.
