Acts new headquarters building
The new, 80,000 square-foot office complex was built in 2006 and will house almost 150 corporate employees.

Acts Retirement-Life Communities, one of the country’s largest senior living and care operators, is moving its corporate headquarters from West Point, PA, to Fort Washington, PA, approximately nine miles away, the company announced Tuesday.

The location, Acts President and CEO Gerald T. Grant said, “is a significant component of our ongoing growth strategy and takes us back to the same town in which the organization was founded some 48 years ago.”

Acts is consolidating three area offices into one. The moves are expected to be complete in December.

“Bringing our corporate services from various locations in the surrounding area together in Fort Washington will allow us to more efficiently and effectively leverage our resources in service to our residents and Acts’ mission,” Grant said.

Acts has been in the West Point location since 1989. The new, 80,000 square-foot office complex was built in 2006 and will house almost 150 corporate employees.

The organization is the third-largest not-for-profit multi-site senior living organization, based on its total independent living, assisted living and nursing care beds, according to the 2019 LeadingAge Ziegler 200. By independent living units, Acts ranks No. 2 on the list; by assisted living units, No. 11; by nursing care beds, No. 8.

The LZ 200 data are current as of Dec. 31, when Acts had 23 continuing care retirement communities (also known as life plan communities) and a total of 8,626 beds / units. The organization now has 26 communities serving more than 10,000 seniors in nine states across the East Coast, with approximately 8,000 staff members.
