Assisted living will be on the agenda when the American College of Health Care Administrators hosts its 2021 Convocation & Expo Virtual Experience April 13 to 27, the organization announced Wednesday.

“Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, we felt the need to continue with our annual tradition convocation, even if it has to be virtual,” ACHCA President and CEO Bill McGinley said in a statement.

The 2020 conference, originally planned for May 3 to 6, was rescheduled to Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 due to the pandemic but subsequently was cancelled.

For the 2021 event, attendees will be able to earn up to 28 continuing education credits as they participate in educational sessions on topics such as assisted living, resident-centered care, human resources, finance, environment, leadership, management and mentoring. A COVID-19 Workshop will include a panel presentation from many who have been at the forefront of the battle with the coronavirus.

Comedian Jan McInnis will deliver the keynote address, “Finding the Funny in Change,” on April 13. A virtual networking lunch will be held April 20, and ACHCA’s Member Forum will be April 27.
