Grapevine, TX-based Pegasus Senior Living will assume the management of eight senior living communities in New Mexico and Texas on Sept. 1. The communities currently are operated by LifeWell Senior Living under its “Legacy” brand name.

The properties have a total of 652 units. Each of the communities offer both assisted living and memory care in purpose-built memory care settings.

“We are delighted to welcome the LifeWell communities into the Pegasus family,” Pegasus Senior Living Chair, co-founder and CEO Chris Hollister said in Monday’s announcement. “These are well-designed communities serving key markets in Texas and New Mexico. As a Texas-based operator dedicated to enhancing all lives with kindness and integrity, this transaction is crucial as we focus on expanding our growth throughout the state and the Southwest.”

With the addition of the eight LifeWell communities, Pegasus will operate 43 senior living communities across 12 states.

Ten of the operator’s senior living communities earned Best Senior Living recognition by US News & World Report in its most recent analysis. The program recognizes independent living, assisted living, memory care and continuing care retirement/life plan communities.

“We are thrilled to have found a management partner that can carry on the work LifeWell has done to improve the lives of our residents in Pegasus Senior Living. It is important to us at Pinpoint that our partners share the same passion for seniors that we do,” said John Thompson, president and CEO of Pinpoint Commercial, the developers of the eight communities to be managed by Pegasus.
