Who would have thought that all it would take to get a new car would be to show up to work?

As a result of a yearly company-wide drawing, one IntegraCare employee with perfect attendance for the year wins a new car. This year, the recipient of IntegraCare’s annual Continued Attendance Rewards (CAR) Program was Maricris Cooper. She won a 2021 Ford Ecosport.

Cooper, a medication associate at Newhaven Court at Clearview — an IntegraCare-operated senior living community in Butler, PA — was this year’s recipient. Cooper began working at the company in 2015, and for the past three years has shown up to work diligently without missing a single shift. Her name was pulled from 38,691 raffle entries out of a raffle of 35 IntegraCare employees who had perfect attendance in 2020.

“Maricris is always upbeat, dedicated, consistent and she’s willing to step up and help when needed,” said Gary Renwick, executive operations officer at Newhaven Court at Clearview.

IntegraCare said that the program has been instrumental in boosting employee morale and attendance.

The grand drawing takes place via Facebook Live and normally is held in late January. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed this year’s car giveaway, however. Prizes other than cars — including televisions, airpods and additional vacation days — also are raffled off at each IntegraCare community.

The latest effort especially rewards workers who not only stuck through the turbulence of 2020 but made it a point to continuously show up. IntegraCare said that all employees at its communities have been vaccinated, and a high percentage of residents also have been vaccinated.

“At IntegraCare, we are fortunate to have a truly caring and compassionate team. Maricris is one of 35 people who showed up to work every day in 2020. We appreciate her and all of our team. It is a pleasure to present Maricris with the keys to her new car,” said Larry Rouvelas, IntegraCare CEO.
