Argentum has added Careers in Caring to its Senior Living Works website.

The resource aims to share information with job-seekers and students about opportunities in senior living. Showcased online are 20 careers across caregiving and nursing, hospitality and resident services, dining and culinary, management, maintenance and housekeeping, sales and marketing, and more.

“Research shows that younger generations in particular are dedicated to connecting their work to a greater mission,” Argentum President and CEO James Balda. “We need to continue to share the message that a career in senior living not only offers opportunities for advancement, but also a true opportunity to make lasting connections and improve the lives of older adults. Our new resource showcases many of those positions where one can truly make a difference.”

Argentum launched the Senior Living Works initiative in April 2018 and started the Senior Living Works Ambassador program, which now includes more than 700 professionals. In early 2019, Argentum added the Education Pipeline, to help senior living professionals and job-seekers locate and connect with relevant college programs. Argentum plans to add text and video stories of success in senior living to the website.

Apprenticeships and other career progressions across the industry’s many occupations will be highlighted in time for Careers in Aging Week, April 19 to 25, for which Argentum,  the American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living, American Seniors Housing Association and LeadingAge are co-sponsoring in partnership with the Gerontological Society of America.
