Preparing for the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care Fall Conference, which starts today, put me in mind of the inaugural event in 2023, where Bob Kramer, NIC co-founder and former president and CEO, was named the Career Achievement Award winner.

That year, the awards also honored an additional 31 senior living, skilled nursing and home care veterans with 20 or more years of experience in the field.

Now entering its third awards cycle, the McKnight’s Pinnacle Awards have become the long-term care industry’s premier way of recognizing industry leaders.  And you now have about three weeks left to nominate someone for recognition in the 2025 contest before the standard deadline arrives and the entry fee increases.

The standard deadline for nominations is Oct. 16, with an entry fee of $259. Nominations also will be accepted until an extended deadline of Nov. 1 at a rate of $325.

2025 categories include:

  • Agent of Change Award
  • Industry Ally (for elected officials, high-level government administrators, trade group members, analysts and other thought leaders, among others)
  • Inspiration Award
  • Marketplace Influencer Award (for vendors who have helped move the sector forward)
  • Setting the Standard Award
  • Thought Leader Award
  • Unsung Hero Award

Nominations are judged by an independent panel of long-term care experts and stakeholders. Multiple winners will be named in each category, as warranted. The finalists will be announced Dec. 10, and winners will be recognized at an in-person event March 20 in Chicago.

You can read more about the award categories and how to nominate a deserving candidate here. You can read about previous winners here: 2023 and 2024.

In addition, a Career Achievement Award — the same one Bob Kramer won in 2023 — will be bestowed again this year, with the honoree determined by program organizers. Last year’s honoree was Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living.

So get those keyboards warmed up. And best wishes!
